Well, I wasn't sure what would happen with the whole concept of the beautiful season of Fall once we relocated to South Florida. I am happy to say that I can feel it in the air. YAY! I hung up my banner and am happy for it's arrival. I've been drying and putting up my herbs from my herb bed and baking lots of cinnamony things and pumpkin breads along with burning candles that smell like I'm baking cinnamony things and pumpkin breads. I can sense that before long I will be enjoying my yearly viewing of Little Women.

Life, tea, and transferware....
I ran across a photograph of this house in England that I thought looked so happily situated. For those of you who know me well, you know how much I love nestled houses. Perhaps one day when we are no longer gypsies, I shall have one of my own.
I am a complete lover and hoarder of transferware. This one is a beauty. I started out my love affair at a very young age with Blue Willow. I think that would be in the transferware world too. Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken. I then began to collect various blue and white pieces and would mix and match. A couple of years ago my sweet mother n law (whom I love dearly) gave me her beautiful pink and white transferware. It has a castle on it. I had always admired it and was so excited! Then as if I didn't have enough dishes, I started on my brown and white transferware. I love mixing them up. Here's a few more goodies I ran across on Etsy...
Love this one !
Love this one too!
Love the peacock! Sorry my posting has been so few and far between lately. Trying to get into the groove with my new job and what little time I have at home I'm cleaning, baking, running children places, or sewing...However, now it's time for some chamomile tea and I think maybe I'll watch The Breakfast Club or Say Anything before the getting the children. Guess the kitchen floors will have to wait.;)

Life update and new things in my shop...
I have recently listed a few more things in my shop. The Boo Banner I made last fall and the mushroom pillows, owl, and hearts I made recently. As always, they are all made from upcycled natural wools that I completely hand stitch and fill with only organic homegrown natural materials. Hope you like them as much as I enjoyed making them.<3
I like to call him Scotty the Plaid Owl. He's got a pocket on his back that is perfect for hiding a tooth or other small treasures.
This Patchwork Heart
is filled with natural clove oil scented organic buckwheat hulls. The
back is a soft recycled felted aqua blue cashmere. It's super soft.
This Patchwork Heart is also filled with organic buckwheat hulls that I scented with clove oil. The backing of this one is a soft black lambs wool.
This Mushroom Pillow is also super soft and filled with organic cotton.
Lastly, there's this little one. The backing is a from a soft upcycled plaid skirt. It's pretty cute...At least, I think so anyway.
Thanks for letting me share some of my new creations with y'all. I really do have so much fun making them. I always feel like I'm tapped in to God's creative power in someway when I make things. As He lives inside of me, I'm doing what I was also created to do. Create. I receive such fulfillment out of it.
Tomorrow I am starting my new job, which I got through cool, crazy circumstances. I'll explain more later. I'm nervous and excited. I believe once I get into the flow of things and get my groove on I'll have more time and be back to my creating. I can hardly wait.
Peace and Love,
Emily

Fantastical Finds
The last two weeks have been crazy at my house. The kids started back to school... I started a new job.. and we haven't had any internet service in the last few days. The last thing really matters not since I haven't had any spare time to go online anyway. I haven't even had much time for creating any new pieces...(sad face). One positive thing is I have been faithful to my yoga practice each morning which really makes such a difference.
Sitting here with my husband mooching internet from Starbucks and I thought I'd share a few more fall colored Etsy finds...
This handmade pottery bowl is gorgeous!

Button Bouquet....
Here's a cute rainy day craft project that you can make with things that you probably already have around the house. All you need are buttons, wire, (I used wire that I recycled from an already used spiral notebook...thanks Rene Smith for the tip), and a small decorative glass vase...You can also use saved herb or spice jars. They make great little vases.
Stormy weather makes for good creative crafting time. Happy Crafting.:)

The cozy, warm colors of fall...
I've always loved the colors of fall. I love them all year long and don't need September to tell me it's time to bring out the fall colors. Most of my wardrobe is filled with fall colors...green, orange, and lots of brown. I love brown and think it's seriously under appreciated.
Just surrounding myself with these colors makes me feel warm, cozy, and at home. They are comforting colors.
I adore this room.
I can never get enough of beautiful antique books. They add such warmth to any room. I can't imagine a life without them.
Now here's some Etsy finds that will help make your home into a beautiful fall cottage...
I just love this vintage granny square afghan
These fall fabric ornaments will add some fun whimsy to any home. I think every home needs some whimsy. It's my rule anyway.;)
This salvaged wood cutting board is so pretty. This shop has many beautiful salvaged wood pieces that will add warmth to your kitchen and salvage beautiful wood at the same time.
Love this vintage cane chair. It's pretty great really.
Isn't this beautiful? This girl from Australia makes the coolest wooden boxes! I'm really amazed by them.
Well, I now live in South Florida and I haven't been through a fall season here yet. Regardless of what it will be like, I will surround myself with the warm cozy colors of fall all year long.
I love how they are such nature inspired colors.
I mean, don't you just want to go inside and have a cup of hot cocoa?
I'm not exactly sure what this is, but it's fabulous.

Hanging at the beach...
I love the ocean before a storm. These were taken a few days before Emily was supposed to hit.( I have to say, I love it when storms or hurricanes are named after me.;)) There is such a peace and calmness before a storm. Life storms are really like that too sometimes.
